The League`s County Players

The League Handbook always carries a list of those players who played for a Member Club and who then went on to play County Cricket.

So I thought I would add a few statistics to the bare names that appear in the handbook and, if possible, a picture.

Alan died at his home in Silsden on 22 March 2006 aged 84. He played many games for Yorkshire 2nd XI and the chart above gives details of his 1st XI career. He would have played more but his career coincided with that of, amongst others, Johnny Wardle.

After leaving Yorkshire, Alan became a Professional in the Leagues for 5 years before retiring to Silsden where he captained the 1st XI for 7 years.

After finishing Cricket, he took up golf and was a Vice-President of his local Club for over 40 years.
