The Airedale & Wharfedale Senior Cricket League held its Annual Eddie Nelson Trophy for its Clubs’ Under 13 teams on Bank Holiday Monday 31st May 2010, the venues being Ilkley, Olicanian and Ben Rhydding Cricket Clubs with Ben Rhydding hosting the round robin finals.   It was a splendid day with 15 Clubs entering the competition with over a hundred participants watched by an equal number if not more spectators.   There was some wonderful cricket in most scenic surroundings and it was a delight to see so many enjoying the day.  The League are indebted to the Clubs and umpires who gave their time freely.   One of the highlights of the day was James Scott who scored an unbeaten 51 out of a total of 73 for Tong Park Esholt. The group winners were Thackley at Ben Rhydding, Ilkley at Ilkley and Illingworth at Olicanian.   In the first of the round robin finals Illingworth defeated Ilkley, who put themselves into contention by beating Thackley in the second round. Thackley then produced a win in the third game to provide the crowd with a nail biting bowl out between the three Clubs with Ilkley becoming the winners of the trophy
