Licensing Fees

I give below the two circulars that I have issued to Clubs and, on the Sub-Pages, Clubs will find the following docuements.

CCPR`s response to the DCMS consultation process

The Press Release from the Central Council of Physical Recreation (CCPR).

Expressions of outrage from National Governing Bodies (including ECB).

A speciman letter upon which Clubs may base their letter to their MP, expressing their opinions.

A document from the Somerset Cricket Board, entitled “Licenses and Licensing Fees”, which details how much these new regulations will cost your Club.

Copies of the above documents may be obtained via e-mail from Howard Clayton

TO ALL CLUB SECRETARIES

Dear Colleague,

THE PROPOSED INCREASES IN BAR LICENSE FEES FOR LOCAL NOT-FOR-PROFIT CLUBS

I am sending you all copies of three letters I have had sent to me by Sarah Pickford (Horsforth CC), who now works for Strategic Leisure, based in Manchester.

I am sure that all Clubs who have a Bar and who rely on its income as one of their main sources of revenue, have noticed with growing alarm the enormous increases proposed by the Government when any Club needs to renew its Bar License.

The YCB is aware of these proposals but Clubs may like to register their own protests with their MPs.

If you write direct to the Department for Media, Culture and Sport (DCMS), they need not reply.

However, if you write direct to your MP, he must take action and report back.

I leave the ball in your court as I feel sure that you will all get a nasty surprise when you go to renew your License, if you have not already done so.

                                                                                                                     Yours sincerely,

   HOWARD CLAYTON

Further to my circular to you all on 27/1/05 about these new licensing fees, I have now found the enclosed document on the ECB web-site and am consequently sending you all copies of the information.

I have placed the document onto the League web-site as well.

           I repeat the following statements.

TO ALL CLUB SECRETARIES

Dear Colleague,

THE PROPOSED INCREASES IN BAR LICENSE FEES FOR LOCAL NOT-FOR-PROFIT CLUBS

Further to my circulars to you all on 27/1/05 and 15/2/05 about these new licensing fees, I now write to inform you all that the deadline for registration under the new procedures is fast approaching.

If Clubs have not submitted their licence renewals by 1August 2005, they will lose the ability to sell alcohol by November 2005

Please consult the League web-site at www.aire-wharfecricket.org.uk and then go to “Licensing Fees”

The YCB web-site at www.ycb-yca.org.uk. is also useful if you then go to “Latest News” and “Bar Licenses”

                                                                                                 Yours sincerely,

HOWARD CLAYTON
